Tirar y Soltar

May 8th-June 30th 2020 at Chicago Art Department

The exhibit Tirar y Soltar is about pulling from the richness of the different cultures that have influenced Macus’ life and pushing to make space for her own art. Letting go of some old traditions and incorporating new ones into her work. It consists of weaving and crocheting using unusual and recycled materials.

As the Chicago Art Department’s first virtual and ‘curbside’ show- it also explores new formats of presenting and producing artwork while social distancing. Chicagoans are encouraged to check out the exhibit from the windows; however individual appointments can be made if you want to see the pieces inside and up-close. Further, Macus will be incorporating live performance by weaving in front of the window the following days: May Tuesday-Friday from 3-6pm and Saturday 16th and 30th from 12-3pm.
